Privacy Policy
Wiseforge Ltd ("we", "us", "our") develops applications. This Privacy Policy explains how Nido handles your data when you use the application.
Nido is a pregnancy and parenting companion for iPhone: stage-by-stage guidance, a log for feeds, sleep, nappies and other daily care, appointments, checklists and soothing sounds.
The short version: everything you record in Nido stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. We run no servers, we have no account system, and we cannot see, access or recover anything you enter.
Data You Enter
Nido stores what you choose to record, on your device:
- Your profile — your name, your role in the family, your region and, if you add it, your NHS number.
- Your children — names, due dates or birth dates, and related details you add.
- Daily logs — feeds, sleep, nappies, pumping, solids, medicine doses, temperatures and tummy time.
- Appointments and checklists — upcoming events and the tasks you tick off.
- App preferences — reminder settings and similar options, stored only on the device they were set on.
Some of this is health-related information about you and your children. It is yours: it never reaches us, and it leaves your device only in the ways described below.
iCloud Sync
Nido keeps its data in your private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit), so it stays in sync across your own devices signed into the same Apple Account and survives a lost or replaced phone. This data is encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest, sits inside your iCloud storage, and is not accessible to Wiseforge. If you are not signed into iCloud, Nido simply keeps everything locally on the device. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Location & Weather
The "Dress for weather" tool can use your location to fetch the local forecast. If you allow it, your approximate coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo, a weather service, solely to retrieve current conditions — along with the standard technical information involved in any web request, such as your IP address. Nido does not store your location, and no other feature uses it. If you decline, the tool works with a manual temperature dial instead.
Camera
If a Nido feature uses the camera, the video is processed live on your device to render the effect on screen. Nothing is recorded, stored or transmitted.
Reminders & Notifications
Feed nudges, medicine-dose reminders and appointment reminders are scheduled on your device using Apple's local notification system. They involve no server and send nothing anywhere.
Siri & Shortcuts
Quick logging by voice ("Log a feed in Nido") is handled by Apple's Siri and Shortcuts frameworks; the resulting entry is written straight into the same on-device store as any other log. We receive nothing.
Exports
You can export your recent logs as a PDF or CSV — for example, to hand to a health visitor. The file is generated on your device and goes only where you choose to share it.
Widgets & Live Activities
The home-screen widget and the feed/sleep timer Live Activity read a small summary that Nido keeps on your device. This data does not leave your phone.
Analytics & Tracking
Nido does not include any analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or advertising SDKs. We do not track your usage of the app.
Children's Privacy
Nido is made for parents and parents-to-be, not for children, and is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. Information about your children is entered by you, stays under your control on your device and in your private iCloud, and is never collected by us.
Your Rights
Under applicable data protection laws (including UK GDPR), you may have the following rights:
- Right of Access — you have the right to request copies of your personal data.
- Right to Rectification — you have the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure — you have the right to request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to Restrict Processing — you have the right to request restriction of processing your personal data.
- Right to Data Portability — you have the right to request transfer of your data to another service provider.
- Right to Object — you have the right to object to certain types of processing.
Because Nido keeps all data on your device and in your own iCloud, you can exercise most of these rights directly: view and edit anything in the app, export your logs from History, or delete entries individually. To remove everything, delete the app and remove Nido's iCloud data (Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage). For anything else, contact us at the address below.
Data Security
Nido's data benefits from the protections built into iOS — device encryption and app sandboxing — and, when synced, Apple's iCloud encryption in transit and at rest.
Not Medical Advice
Nido offers general information drawn from public NHS guidance. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis or a medical device. Always follow the advice of your midwife, health visitor, GP or pharmacist, and call 999 in an emergency.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
